The Girl Scout Christmas Tree event, a community service project which began in 2003, is in its 13th year.

The artificial trees have been decorated and are on display at the Soup Kitchen on Salisbury Street. The theme this year is “Disney” and the community is invited to stop by and vote for your “favorite tree”. These children are having fun while working for the neediest of our community.

Each tree will be given to a needy family or elderly person in time for Christmas Day. Contact Rae Allen for more information 387-3666 and to suggest a person or family for one of these unique trees. Are you looking for a unique gift for the family historian? The Sandy Creek History Center has many reasonably priced local history books including the newly published One Room School book. Other books include histories of the Village of Lacona, Village of Sandy Creek, Sandy Pond Memories, the Doctor’s of Sandy Creek/Lacona to name a few. Stop by the town hall to purchase a book or check out our web page to see what is available.
